Kids Wado Uk Christmas Party - Ice Skating
& Bag Pack

Thanks to everyone who helped on Saturday 24th of October at the Wado UK bag pack. I am so proud of the turnout from Chikara. We managed to raise a record £996.10 !!!.

The proceeds from the bagpack will subsidise the up and coming Wado UK Kids Christmas party which this year is ice skating at Hull’s Ice Arena on Saturday 5th December 2015 with lunch provided.  The cost will be reliant on the number of party goers so can you please let me know if you would like to attend (time to be confirmed).  I must confirm numbers by 20th November so please get your name down at the club.

Also make sure you have the Wado UK presentation evening pencilled in (Friday 11th December) – tickets on-sale soon!!!!

2015 Wadokai Championships

This year Chikara teamed up with our Wadokai partners to try our hand (or fist) at their international championships

Chikara took part in both the Wadokai World Cup in Nagoya, Japan (August) and the FEW European Championships (October) in Hungary, Budapest.

Sensei Steve and Thomas both competed in the Kata sections and Jakub in the Kumite sections.  A medal in Japan failed to materialise with everyone just missing out on medals.
However in Hungary Sensei competed in the pairs kata with Raj Bhardwaj from Hei Jo Shin and secured a BRONZE medal, which then exceeded by our very own Thomas Balaam-Reed becoming twice European champion achieving GOLD in both his individual section and team (with Central Karate School's Calum and Harry).
This was a very new exciting and daunting experience for the boys and they both dealt with it admirably - well done!

It clashed with the EKF National Championships, but we had a great response and a total figure of £775.99. This money will go to replace the deficit from the kids Bowling Event of 2014, and the remainder going towards the Ice Skating event planned for the end of 2015.
